At Brewsmith, we believe great coffee starts with respect for the bean. We source green coffees carefully and roast them in small batches in Johor Bahru, bringing out each coffee's inherent qualities through precision roasting and uncompromising standards. Our coffee journey began in 2013 under an earlier brand and grew into Brewsmith in 2017, founded by the 2015 Malaysian AeroPress Champion. We roast all our own coffee on Stronghold, and we're the official Stronghold distributor for Malaysia.
How we roast
It starts with the green bean
Our process begins with rigorous selection of specialty-grade coffees from renowned growing regions. By partnering with dedicated producers who share our values, we source exceptional lots at their seasonal peak, so every green coffee has the depth and character worthy of your cup.
Where science and craft converge
In our roastery, our Stronghold roaster gives us the exacting control needed to honour each bean's unique structure, holding thermal stability so flavours develop naturally and completely. Through carefully designed roast profiles, we create the ideal conditions for authentic expression, never imposing what doesn't belong.
Coffee in its purest form
The result is a harmony of origin character and drinkability. Every single origin reflects its terroir with clarity. Small-batch roasting keeps every bag at peak freshness, and our sourcing supports thriving coffee communities.
Our craft
Not to alter nature's work, but to perfect its presentation. Not to create flavours, but to unlock them. Every coffee gets its own roast profile, developed through test roasts and cupping and refined until the cup tastes the way the farm intended.
Roasting for cafés and businesses
We supply cafés, restaurants and businesses across Malaysia with consistent, freshly roasted espresso and filter coffee. We're also the Malaysia distributor for Stronghold coffee roasters, the same machines we roast on. Message us to talk wholesale or request samples.
